Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and a password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider).
• Profile: the name and style preferences you give during onboarding, and the preferences the stylist learns from your requests and feedback so it can style you better. To see or remove what it has learned, write to [email protected].
• Photos: pictures of your clothes, the garment cut-outs made from them, and — only if you add one — a photo of yourself.
• Styling activity: your requests to the stylist, the outfits it suggests, your reactions, wear history, and generated outfit images.
• Feedback: ratings and messages you send us about Valanski, with the page you sent them from.
• Usage and billing: how many scans, stylist requests and images you use, and, on a paid plan, your subscription status from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Technical data: your IP address and approximate location (used to show local weather), and error logs tied to your account.

Why we use it

To provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract): storing your wardrobe, identifying garments, composing outfits, and rendering them.

To keep the service safe and working (legitimate interest): rate limits, bot checks, abuse prevention, and error logs.

To bill paid plans and meet accounting obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your photos to train our own models.

Who processes your data for us

We rely on the following providers. Each processes data only to deliver its part of the service.

• Supabase — database, file storage and sign-in. Everything you store in Valanski lives here.
• AI service providers — third-party services that recognise the garments in your photos and cut them out, compose outfits from your requests, and render outfit images. Rendering sends your garment photos and, if you added one, your profile photo. Under their terms, this data is not used to train their models and is kept for no more than 30 days.
• Stripe — payments, for paid plans only.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — checks that sign-up, sign-in and password-reset forms are used by a person.
• ipwho.is and MET Norway — your browser contacts these directly to find your approximate city from your IP address and fetch its weather. Valanski does not ask for your precise location.
• Our email provider — sends account confirmation and password-reset emails.
• Sentry — error monitoring. When something breaks, it receives a technical report: the error, the page or request involved, your browser and device type, your account ID and your IP address. Cookies, request contents, photos and what you ask the stylist are not included.

Your photo and your face

Adding a photo of yourself is optional. It is used only as a reference when you ask to visualize an outfit, so the image shows you rather than a model, and it is sent to our image-generation provider for that purpose alone. It is not used to identify you. You can remove it from your profile at any time.

International transfers

Some providers, including our AI service providers, Stripe and Sentry, process data in the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

How long we keep it

• Your wardrobe, profile and outfits: until you delete them or your account.
• Error and activity logs: 30 days.
• Billing records: as long as accounting law requires, even after your account is deleted.
• Usage records (how many scans, stylist requests and images were used, and what they cost us, with none of their content): kept after your account is deleted, no longer linked to you.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw any consent you have given. Most of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, write to [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what the service needs to work: a sign-in session cookie, and browser storage for your theme, language and cached weather. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.

Children

Valanski is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
